Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are between you and Context Emergence LLC, doing business as Trovari ("we," "us," "our"). Trovari is an inventory management platform for tracking physical belongings, collections, and valuable items. By creating an account, you agree to these Terms.
We've written these to be clear and direct. If something doesn't make sense, ask us.
Your Account
- Accuracy — You must provide accurate information when creating your account. Each person should have one individual account, though you may belong to multiple spaces.
- Security — You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.
- Age requirement — You must be at least 16 years old to use Trovari. If you are under 18, you may only use the service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.
Spaces & Membership
Trovari organizes data into spaces — a space might represent your household, family, or organization. Each space has its own items, locations, and collections, isolated from other spaces at the database level.
- Roles — Space members have specific roles (viewer, member, manager, admin, owner) that control what they can see and modify. Space owners and admins control membership.
- Invitations — Members are added by invitation. Invitations expire after 7 days if not accepted.
- Removal — Space admins can remove members at any time. When removed, your personal data (ratings, notes) associated with that space is retained but no longer accessible unless you're re-invited.
Your Content
You own the content you put into Trovari — item descriptions, photos, notes, and any other data you provide. We do not claim ownership of your content.
- License to operate — By uploading content, you grant Trovari a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, display, and transmit that content as necessary to provide the service. This includes generating thumbnails, serving photos to authorized viewers, and processing images for safety (see Content Moderation below).
- Public sharing — If you share a collection publicly, the items and photos in that collection become viewable by anyone with the link. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share that content. Even after you disable sharing, copies may have been saved by others.
- Backups — We maintain database backups for disaster recovery, but you are responsible for maintaining your own records of important information.
Content Moderation & Image Scanning
Every photo uploaded to Trovari is automatically scanned before it is stored. We use Google Cloud Vision to evaluate images for potentially harmful content. This is not optional — it applies to all photo uploads, for all users.
- What we scan for — Images are evaluated for explicit adult content and extreme violence. We do not flag images for being suggestive, medical in nature, or containing weapons — these are legitimate in an inventory context.
- What happens when content is flagged — Flagged images are rejected immediately. They are never stored in our systems. You'll see a generic error message — we intentionally do not disclose what triggered the flag.
- Additional data extraction — During the safety scan, we also extract useful metadata from your photos — text on labels (OCR), detected objects, and brand logos. This data is stored alongside the photo and may be used in the future to help identify items automatically. It is not shared with third parties.
- Share-time filtering — As an additional safeguard, only photos that have passed moderation are included when collections are shared publicly.
Prohibited Content
You may not upload, store, or share the following through Trovari:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM). We are required by federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A) to report any apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC). We will do so without notifying the uploader, and we will cooperate fully with law enforcement. This will result in immediate and permanent account termination.
- Content that is illegal under applicable law, including content that infringes on others' intellectual property rights.
- Content uploaded with the intent to harass, threaten, or harm others.
- Content that you do not have the right to upload or share.
We reserve the right to remove any content and terminate any account that violates these terms, with or without notice.
AI Features
Trovari uses artificial intelligence to help you manage your inventory. Here's what that means in practice:
- Item identification — When you ask Trovari to identify an item from a photo or description, we use Claude (by Anthropic) to analyze the input and suggest item details. These suggestions may contain errors — you should review them before saving.
- Natural language — You can add items, search your inventory, and ask questions using natural language. These inputs are processed by AI to understand your intent.
- No model training — Your data is not used to train AI models. Inputs are processed to generate a response and are not retained by AI providers for training purposes.
Acceptable Use
Use Trovari for its intended purpose — managing and tracking your belongings. You agree not to:
- Attempt to access other users' data or spaces without authorization.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the service.
- Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or place excessive load on the service.
- Use the platform to distribute spam, malware, or phishing content.
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent content moderation or security measures.
Third-Party Services
Trovari relies on trusted third-party services to operate. Your use of Trovari involves your data being processed by:
- Supabase — Authentication, database, and file storage. SOC 2 Type II certified. Data stored in AWS data centers in the United States.
- Google Cloud Vision — Image scanning for content moderation and metadata extraction. Images are sent to Google's API for analysis and are not retained by Google after processing.
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered item identification and natural language processing. Inputs are processed to generate responses and are not used for model training.
- Stripe — Payment processing, if applicable. Trovari never stores credit card numbers or payment credentials.
Account Termination
- By you — You can close your account at any time by contacting us. We will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
- By us — We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. For serious violations (illegal content, CSAM), termination is immediate and permanent. For other violations, we will attempt to notify you first.
- Data after termination — After account closure, your data is deleted from active systems within 30 days. It may persist in encrypted backups for up to 90 days before being permanently removed.
Intellectual Property
Trovari's software, design, branding, and documentation are owned by Trovari and protected by intellectual property laws. Your use of the service does not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond what is needed to use the service as intended.
If you believe content on Trovari infringes your copyright, please contact us at legal@trovari.ai with a description of the work and the location of the alleged infringement.

Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you via email or an in-app notice at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of Trovari after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
